For bedrooms, bathrooms and less used areas, install electronic thermostats to maintain a stable, even temperature. Electronic thermostats maintain temperature to within 0.5 degrees Celsius.

To qualify for the rebate:

 

1. The homeowner must meet eligibility requirements.
2. Only programmable thermostats or electronic thermostats with a temperature rating of +/- 0.5 degrees Celsius are eligible for the rebate. Information on thermostats can be found on Natural Resources Canada's website

 

Follow these three easy steps to savings:

 

Step 1: Purchase and install your thermostats

 

• Select an electronic thermostat with a temperature rating of +/- 0.5 degrees Celsius, or
• Select a programmable thermostat.

 

 

Step 2: Complete a Thermostat Rebate Coupon

• Download and print a Thermostat Rebate Coupon.

 

 

Step 3: Submit your Thermostat Rebate Coupon and receive your rebate

• Once your thermostats are installed, submit your completed and signed Thermostat Rebate Coupon to your electricity provider.
• You must also attach your original receipts for the purchase of your thermostats and the UPC code from the product package. (Customers can have their original receipt sent back to them by stating this request on the application.)
• Your electricity provider will process your rebate when you have submitted your completed coupon and receipts. This may take up to eight weeks.
• Your electricity provider may conduct a post-installation inspection before processing the rebate. If you have completed an ecoEnergy Retrofit Home Audit and you submit your pre and post installation audit reports, an inspection will not be required.

 

Sign up for additional takeCHARGE rebates. Install additional basement and attic insulation and receive up to 40¢ per square foot of insulation installed. Install ENERGY STAR^® Windows and receive $2.00 per square foot of window installed.

 

Your electricity provider may visit and inspect your home at any time from the date of application until 12 months after installation. If you have completed an ecoEnergy Retrofit Home Audit and you submit your pre and post installation audit reports, an inspection will not be required.
